I am currently part of Fannie Mae’s Desktop Underwriter® (DU®) Core Team, contributing to one of the industry’s most trusted and widely adopted automated mortgage underwriting platforms. DU® powers credit risk assessment and loan eligibility decisions, helping lenders streamline the mortgage process for millions of borrowers.In my role, I collaborate within a cross-functional squad to modernize critical components of the platform by transforming legacy systems into a cloud-native microservices architecture, hosted entirely on AWS. I focus on services such as Credit and Borrower processing, leveraging technologies like AWS ECS, ECR, DynamoDB, Jenkins, and Terraform to ensure scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.Some highlights of my contributions include:Driving the modernization of underwriting services to a microservices-based architecture, improving reliability and time-to-market for new features.Playing a key role in the Credit Service transformation, which contributed to over $6M in added value in Q2 2025, enabling lenders to process higher loan volumes with greater efficiency.Enhancing platform resiliency and performance by implementing automation pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring strategies that improved deployment frequency and system uptime.
