Oversee the implementation of World Bank-funded MahaSTRIDE project initiatives through District Support Units, ensuring alignment with district-level strategic plans and Environmental and Social (E&S) safeguards.2. Incorporate Environmental and Social Systems Assessment (ESSA) recommendations and Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) requirements into program interventions and strategic plans as per World Bank framework.3. Provide support in developing a state-level integrated data dashboard and in developing state data policy to enhance the capacity of state departments and institutions, including MITRA (Think Tank for the Maharashtra Government) and the State Data Authority.4. Assist project teams in integrating E&S screening, assessment processes, and climate risk mitigation strategies into program design and implementation.5. Contribute to capacity-building initiatives to enhance E&S understanding, facilitate stakeholder consultations, promote citizen engagement, and incorporate beneficiary feedback into program improvements.6. Collaborate with the Department of Environment to design and implement district- and city-level initiatives focused on climate risk mitigation, adaptation strategies, and environmental sustainability.7. Prepare quarterly progress reports against Program Action Plans (PAP) and Environmental and Social Commitment Plans (ESCP) while monitoring E&S safeguards using well-defined indicators.8. Prepare policy briefs and document good practices, success stories, and lessons learned to improve E&S outcomes and support the scaling of effective approaches.9. Enhance grievance redressal systems to ensure timely resolution of E&S concerns, fostering social inclusion, and ensuring gender equality and sustainability in project interventions.
