About Neeraja C

I began my journey in the pharmaceutical industry as an intern at the Strain development lab (Small Molecules Verticals) at Biocon, Bengaluru. I gained experience in cell banking, cloning (in bacterial and yeast based expression systems) and media optimization. I also had the experience to work on the analytical aspects at Process Impurity Analytics lab at Biocon Biologics, as well as the Bioassay department at Anthem Biosciences. For the greater part of my career, I have worked on impurity analytics, focusing on Host cell DNA and Host cell protein estimation. I have developed, improvised and qualified methods for the same – for multiple biosimilars. At Biocon Biologics, I was able to expand my domain by working on – RCR, MVM, Mycoplasma detection, GCI estimation, BET and Bioburden analysis. I have worked in both GLP and GMP facilities, and even working with eLN, which has contributed to my documentation skills. At Anthem, I have been exposed to cell-based assays (proliferation, potency, cytotoxicity assays), enzyme activity analysis, mammalian cloning, implementation of SAP and Veeva Vault, in addition to working on impurity analytics for diverse clientele - where I could work on cost cutting too. Through working on multiple in-house and Client-based projects, and various QMS system implementation, I have come to understand my capacity in effective matrix communication, provide gap-analysis data and also leading my team to better Quality compliant documentation practices and work ethics. I am always on the lookout for understanding challenges at the workplace, improving existing practices and quality, thereby increasing efficiency and productivity. I love to spend my time outdoors in nature’s midst or cozy up with my current-favorite book or anime. I also enjoy hearty meals with genuine conversations and laughter.
