ABOUT NEENA VERMA
With over 20 years of experience in higher education, I am a seasoned professional in institutional research, performance measurement, data analytics, student success initiatives, and qualitative and quantitative research methods. I joined Boston University in January 2020 and served as the Assistant Provost for Academic Data and Decision Support, where I lead and collaborate with a team of professionals, PhD interns, and graduate research assistants to provide data-driven insights and solutions for strategic planning, policy development, program evaluation, and accreditation. Prior to my time at BU, I was responsible for establishing the IR Office and accomplishing several significant milestones in data inventory, data management, data warehouse, and accreditation support as the Senior Institutional Research Officer at Alder Graduate School of Education. Before that, I was the Director of Institutional Research at the University of Massachusetts President\'s Office for over ten years, where I made significant contributions to the university system. I hold a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Toronto and a certification in Performance Assessment in Higher Education from Harvard University. I am passionate about using data to advance academic excellence, student success, and social inclusion. I continue to update my technical skills in Data Modeling, Data Science, SQL, Python, AWS, and Data Analytics with AI - through the Data Engineering Academy. I am also really excited about exploring an alternative/second career pathway in Applied Behavioral Analysis through Learn Behavioral and BCI. I also teach Sociology/Anthropology as an adjunct faculty across different institutions in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I am thoroughly enjoying the diverse working experiences and work environments I have now slowly put together for this phase of my career.
