ABOUT SHANKHANEEL B.
Aiming for Investment Banking (yes, I was inspired by Pierce & Pierce). Mechanical Engineer by training. Consultant by experience. MBA student by choice — IIM Visakhapatnam, PGP\'27. Before business school, I was a Functional Consulting Analyst at Deloitte US-India, working in CRM within the Sales & Service offering. My day-to-day involved CRM using Microsoft Power Platform along with some exposure to Varicent ICM, Anaplan, Power BI, Oracle DB — tools that live at the intersection of sales operations and financial planning. Good training for anyone headed toward IB or PE, even if I didn\'t frame it that way at the time. The engineering undergrad (Mechanical, TIET Patiala) was more substantive than the degree sounds. I did research on tidal energy modelling using ROMS on MPI systems at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (Top-5 in the World for Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering)— which meant wrangling complex datasets and numerical modelling approaches before I knew what a management was. Python, NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, MATLAB, ANSYS Fluent, Simulink — the stack followed from there. Worked plied trade as a Maintenance Engineering Intern at GAIL (India) Limited where I got to work on some cool heavy rotating equipment like Gas Turbines, GEG etc. The MBA is the deliberate pivot. IB, PE/VC, Strategy Consulting — that\'s the target. The technical background and the business school experience are the two ends I\'m trying to connect. If you want to talk markets, deal structures, football, travel, or filmmaking — genuinely any of those — reach out.
