ABOUT NEDA SAYYED
Hi! My name is Neda. As a Masters student at Rutgers studying Communication & Media with a focus on Digital Media, I use my guidance based on the representation I saw in the media growing up. As a Pakistani American, I rarely saw people like myself represented, whether it be on the screen or the radio. I rarely felt like South Asians and Asian Americans in general were worthy of having their stories told in ways that weren\'t stereotypical, especially to the model minority myth. My experiences at Rutgers have shaped the work I aim to accomplish. I am currently enrolled in the 4+1 Master of Communication and Media program at the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers NB. Based on the skills I\'ve learned as a Communications Intern at Gutsy Media and a Senior Program Coordinator at the Asian American Cultural Center at Rutgers, I have a passion for incorporating social awareness with digital literacy. As someone that aspires to work in the entertainment and music industry, I hope to own a talent agency that can serve as a platform and space for POC creatives from marginalized groups to share their talents confidently while also celebrating their intersectional identities. I am seeking roles to manage BIPOC talent in the entertainment/music industry.
