About Neal Carlson

Neal is the founder and managing director of Forthright Family Wealth. He serves as the trusted advisor for a select group of ultra-high net worth entrepreneurs and private investors, their families and foundations, and other institutions on all aspects of their wealth management. Prior to forming Forthright, Neal served for over a decade at Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, and Wells Fargo Advisors. He served as a Captain in the US Army Corps of Engineers for five years and is a veteran of Bosnia Herzegovina. Neal has recently served as a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations, a fellow in the British American Project, and a fellow in the German Marshall Fund. He is on the board of visitors at Southwestern University, and serves as a leader on several boards in Houston. Neal and his family are active at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.He earned a BS from the US Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Rice University.
