About Neal Caidin
My passion outside of work is helping people connect across differences. This, for me, has come in many forms. For example I have deep roots in the work of Viola Spolin. Viola\'s seminal work, Improvisation for the Theater is germane to both theater and a major influence on contemporary Improvisation (e.g. Comedy Improv). I have been a player, coach and performer, with my inner motivation being how Play connects us in the present moment, and much else melts away. Currently I’m focusing much more on another way to connect across differences, NonViolent Communication as developed by Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D. This work has empathy and empowerment as it’s foundation and helps us see the humanity in each other, even when we have strongly held beliefs that seem to conflict. I’m a local trainer and practice group facilitator. Along this theme, I’m also involved in Better Angels, and Durham Restorative Justice, https://nonviolentdurham.org/practices/restorative-justice/. This is really a passion for me, and I believe these skills of empathy and inclusiveness are also powerful for getting a better ROI in business. Plus it’s the kind of world I want to live in and pass onto my daughter and the world. I am IT Management and Project management professional skilled in Agile and Waterfall environments. Organized, effective, thoughtful communicator. Effectiveness working with virtual and co-located teams. • Effective delivery of innovative solutions within time, budget, and resource constraints • Pays attention to details while also considering the big picture. Shows flexibility. • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification with the international PMI.org organization • CSM (Certified Scrum Master) with the Scrum Alliance • Strong leadership and team building skills • Stakeholder and vendor management experience • Communicates effectively to all levels of an organization • Combination of creative and organizational skills
