ABOUT NAZUK BHASIN

I am currently a Senior Research Fellow pursuing my Ph.D. in Urban Ecology, integrating a multidisciplinary background to tackle complex environmental challenges. With a foundation in engineering, holding a degree in Electronics and Communication, and two years of experience at Vodafone specializing in RF planning and optimization, I bring a robust analytical skill set to my current research endeavors. During my Master\'s studies, I conducted research on columnar ozone. This experience underscored my proficiency in scientific research methods and data analysis, skills I continue to apply in my current Ph.D. research in Urban Ecology. My academic journey began with a M.Phil in Environmental Science, where I earned distinction researching forest fires and their greenhouse gas emissions for my M.Phil. thesis. This work contributed valuable insights into climate change scenarios, and further helped understand environmental impacts and the need for fostering sustainable practices. My doctoral research focuses broadly on SDG 11, employing advanced techniques such as GIS, statistical modeling, and ecological surveys to elucidate the dynamics of urban ecosystems. My aim is to contribute evidence-based solutions that promote environmental resilience and sustainability of urban environments. As a Senior Research Fellow, I thrive in collaborative environments that encourage innovative approaches and interdisciplinary cooperation. I am dedicated to mentoring the next generation of researchers and engaging with stakeholders to implement effective strategies for urban sustainability and resilience. I am passionate about translating research into actionable policies and practices, bridging the gap between academia, industry, and policymaking. I am eager to leverage my diverse background and expertise to continue making meaningful contributions to Urban Ecology and other fields, striving towards creating healthier and more sustainable environments that benefit both human populations and ecological systems.
