As a member of the Sener Lab at the Wisconsin Energy Institute, I contribute to interdisciplinary research focused on converting lignocellulosic biomass, specifically lignin, into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and valuable biochemicals. My responsibilities include:• Conducting Reductive Catalytic Fractionation (RCF) to isolate and process lignin-derived SRO (soluble, reactive, and oligomeric) fractions• Utilizing Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) to characterize lignin-derived products and evaluate catalyst efficiency• Supporting the optimization of biomass depolymerization pathways through data analysis and literature review• Collaborating across disciplines to bridge surface science and biomass upgrading, aligning with global efforts to decarbonize aviation by 2050
