ABOUT NAZNEEN JAFRI
After transitioning to a new career path, I underwent training and qualified at a well-established asset management company. In my role as Legal Counsel, I provided guidance to institutional investor clients regarding their pension fund investments in Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD). I consistently reviewed fund documents and performed due diligence concerning prospective investments across various jurisdictions.A significant part of my contribution involved actively participating in the establishment of the Real Estate Fund as an Authorised Contractual Scheme (ACS) Fund, dedicated to holding real estate investments. I took the lead in a complex cross-border transaction concerning the restructuring of a fund. This process required collaboration with fund managers and legal counsel across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, Asia, and the United States to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations governing fund management.As an Associate in the Pensions team I have sustained my concentration on advising institutional investor clients on pension fund investments, while also expanding my practice to encompass advisory services and engaging in both public and private M&A transactional work for prominent clients.
