Hi, I’m Sakib, currently working as a postdoctoral associate at the Emerging Pathogens Institute located at the University of Florida. My routine responsibilities involve advanced molecular biology, biotechnology, and microbiology techniques. I extract and analyze nucleic acids and proteins from diverse specimens—including tissue, blood, and environmental samples, while adhering to established standard operating procedures.My technical expertise includes cloning, mutagenesis, gene expression analysis, PCR/qRT-PCR, ELISA, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, and microscopic imaging. I prepare samples for Illumina sequencing and whole-genome sequencing workflows. In addition, I conduct genomic epidemiological studies and perform comprehensive bioinformatics analyses, including genome assembly, annotation, phylogenetics, and SNP analysis.I culture bacterial and viral pathogens and perform both genotypic and phenotypic assays. I also maintain laboratory protocols and biorepositories, perform quality checks on instruments, train students, and ensure QC documentation and safety compliance. Beyond wet-lab work, I support multiple research projects through data analysis, visualization, and statistical interpretation.
