Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop and ensuring the company’s HGV and trailer fleet is maintained to the highest safety, efficiency and compliance standards. Leading a team of technicians to deliver effective maintenance, repairs and inspections that keep the fleet roadworthy and operational for a busy container and haulage operation. Oversee fleet maintenance, servicing, inspections and MOT schedules for trucks and trailers. Plan, allocate and supervise daily workshop tasks for the engineering team. Ensure full DVSA, operator licence and health & safety compliance. Manage workshop performance, cost control and productivity KPIs. Coordinate with operations and transport teams to minimise vehicle downtime. Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records using workshop systems. Liaise with suppliers for parts, materials and external repair services. Drive continuous improvement in reliability, safety and efficiency across the fleet.
