About Nayan Shelke
Currently working as a Senior Manager – Planning & Strategy at Reliance Industries, I’m focused on improving governance, identifying key risks, and developing practical mitigation strategies. My role revolves around building better planning systems, improving coordination across teams, and making sure strategic initiatives actually translate into results—especially in the new business. I enjoy simplifying complex problems, bringing structure to chaos, and making long-term plans that are both realistic and impactful.Earlier, I was part of the Gas Cracker Plant (Hydrocarbon Business) where I led a team of engineers during critical shutdowns. We handled high-pressure situations—literally and figuratively—to make sure projects were completed safely, on time, and within budget. I was also responsible for troubleshooting day-to-day issues and driving small process improvements that added up to meaningful operational gains.I started my journey with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Pillai College of Engineering, Mumbai University. During college, I was actively involved as a Mentorship Coordinator and had the chance to present a research paper internationally on an underwater monitoring system using thermo-electric actuators. Along the way, I did internships in areas like additive manufacturing, port operations, and sustainable design to broaden my perspective.Recently, I completed the Executive General Management Program (EGMP) from IIM Bangalore, which helped me connect the dots between engineering, business strategy, and leadership. I’m always looking to learn and grow—both in terms of technical skills and big-picture thinking. My goal is simple: contribute meaningfully, keep improving, and help shape solutions that work in the real world.
