Currently, I\'m leading the effort to re-architect the services that power the Directory APIs behind Microsoft Graph, to increase the developer productivity and code velocity for these services. The work ranges from moving to microservices instead of a monolith application, to improving the inner loop for the developers. Before this, I conceptualized and lead the effort to decrease the overall cost per request for the Microsoft Identity reverse proxy by more than 70%. This lead to a saving of millions of dollars per year. This involved multiple initiatives such as- Moving to more efficient topology, letting us run the service hotter without sacrificing the failover capability- Move to a more cost-effective machine SKU- Optimize the application code, and especially reduce the logging cost- Starting the effort to port the application to.NET Core, which lead to a further 40% reduction in cost.
