ABOUT NAVYA VELAGA

A finance professional with a focus on data science, based in the United Kingdom. I hold a Master’s degree in Finance and Management from Cranfield University, and I am a part-qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). My academic background also includes a PGP in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure Management from NICMAR University, as well as a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from the Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation, both in India. I have built a diverse professional portfolio with experience in finance and real estate sectors. Currently, I am a Complex Fraud Investigator for Sainsburys bank at TSYS Managed Services EMEA, a leading credit card processing firm in the UK. Here, I manage fraud cases and collaborate with various stakeholders to combat financial crime. Prior to this, I served as a Fraud Analyst for Metro Bank. I have also worked in the real estate sector, including roles as an Associate Analyst at Strata Property Management Pvt Ltd, and as an Executive for Shriram Properties Limited. My credentials are further strengthened by certifications in Bloomberg Market Concepts from Bloomberg, The Complete Financial Analyst Course from Udemy, and a Green Belt Programme on Lean Six Sigma Methodology from KPMG. I am equipped with technical skills such as financial modelling, proficiency in Microsoft Suite, and usage of STATA, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Capital IQ and fraud detection tools. Beyond my professional interests, I am passionate about singing, astronomy, hiking, badminton and yoga. I am also an active volunteer, with involvement in events like the Cambridge Night Shine Walk and Wildlife Conservation task at Bradgers Hill, Luton.
