I am heading Sustainability & Decarbonization vertical of the company. We are early mover, innovator and intends to disrupt the global steel industry by introducing the green steel thereby reducing the carbon intensity by almost 85-90%. Prior to this heading this vertical, I was the head of procurement of the company. My roles and responsibilities as CPO includes but is not limited to identifying the needs of the company, performing market intelligence, evaluating suppliers, develop key matrices based on cash velocity, total cost of ownership for business decisions, selecting the suppliers and then, communicating and engaging with suppliers and developing contracts. As a leader in the organization, I leverage a myriad of procurement skills to balance many sensitive leadership functions. Some of these include : managing overall sourcing strategy, balancing a budget, being constantly vigilant about finding systemic procurement and supply chain improvements. in addition, developing goals, standards, and metrics to keep track of leading KPIs.I manage annual spend of close $ 0.8 Billion. My expertise includes in sourcing of all types of refractories used in steel plants, graphite electrodes,Macro and Micro Ferro Alloys,all types of Fluxes- Dolomite, Limestone, Calcined Lime,Fuels and various types of Maintenance, Repair and Operations ( MRO) items.I was part of core team to put in World\'s first Syn Gas Based Direct Reduced Iron ( DRI) plant in Angul, Odisha.I played a key role in setting up India\'s biggest Blast Furnace Project in Angul, Odisha. I also Head- Marketing of Coal to Chemicals products like Tar, Benzol, Phenols, Ammonia, Phenolic Pitch and Sulphur. I played a key role in product development and placing these products successfully in Indian market. i handled steel projects worth $ 1.2 billion dollars taking care of all commercials and post order tracking.I had spoken in various Coal Gasification & Coal to Liquid conferences on Managing Supply Chains and understanding the risks involved in handling these projects.I actively participate in various seminars on supply chain in chemicals, petrochemicals and steel industry.I am member of Council of Engineers for Energy Transition(CEET)- An independent advisory body to UN Secretory General and part of the advisory committee of Abu Dhabi Sustainability week, Green Hydrogen Oman, India Green Steel Coalition(IGSC). I did my graduation in Chemical Engineering with Honors from Govt. Engg. College and MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
