In my present role at Protagonist Therapeutics, Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis for API clinical candidates and Scale Up process activity, Process Optimization, Tech transfers to Vendors to make it multi kg. In my previous role as a Senior Process Scientist at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals with over 3 years of experience in this role, I have developed and optimized new and existing chemical manufacturing processes for scale-up production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for various drug candidates, including antivirals, prodrugs, and metabolites. I have managed external research activities at CROs/CMOs, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines for deliverables. I have also successfully identified, characterized, and synthesized impurities, expertise in impurity spiking and purging and fate mapping studies, as well as support polymorphic study for the final APIs and prepared regulatory materials for CMC drug substance and GMP compliance.As a scientifically driven and highly motivated synthetic organic chemist, I have a strong background in drug substance development and diverse knowledge in peptide chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry and oligonucleotide chemistry (nucleic acid chemistry). I have a proven track record of patent and scientific international publications. I am an effective collaborator and a confident and articulate communicator, working with cross-functional teams in multidisciplinary projects involving analytical development, formulation, chemical biology, quality control, and toxicology.
