As a Software Engineering Manager, I am well-equipped to deliver cutting-edge technology solutions by leading engineering teams, providing technical leadership, and performing strategic planning. I focus on solution scalability and reliability while consistently boosting operational efficiency as well. Throughout my career, I have been involved in deploying innovative technologies and have never shied away from a technical challenge. At Verizon, for instance, I successfully completed an Oracle up-gradation project which was the largest project of its kind at the time. This involved upgrading the software version while preventing downtime for critical applications across 3 data centers. I won 5 CIO Excellence Awards at Verizon for similar achievements and contributions made to digital channel enhancement. More recently, I directed Verizon’s shift to a cloud-first strategy. I reduced data center costs by $20M annually by implementing cloud infrastructure. Additionally, I supported strategic cost-reduction efforts by moving away from enterprise software products to open-source tools. To add to this, I built scalability into applications by adopting cloud and microservices applications. This ensured that on the highest traffic days of the year, including Black Friday and Apple product launch days, Verizon was able to handle an increase in demand seamlessly without any added capital costs. Over the course of my career, I have also been co-awarded 3 patents for various technical advancements, including a unique solution devised to address static content on web apps. This is a testament to my technical acumen. Although I’ve now risen through the ranks to senior management, I continue to enjoy the hands-on implementation of projects and make sure I keep up with the latest technologies. I’ve pursued multiple certifications in technologies like AWS and Kubernetes and encouraged my team to do the same. As a result, I’ve easily supervised large-scale implementation projects without the need for additional resources. In addition to providing continuous learning initiatives, I also support my team members by ensuring operational tasks are automated as much as possible. By automating a huge chunk of production alert management at Verizon, I’ve improved employee work-life balance. Deploying self-healing workflows has enabled ten full-time employees to be freed up for other tasks as well.
