ABOUT NAT WALLBANK
I am a creative, skilled and highly motivated product software engineer with more than two decades\' experience of delivering innovative, secure, scalable and well-crafted bespoke technology solutions across a variety of industries. I am comfortable working at multiple product delivery levels: from understanding, distilling, defining and communicating requirements, to architecting a solution to the most difficult problems, to delivering low-level technical features in the front-end, the backend, or the database.I have been the hands-on technical lead for the design, architecture, development, maintenance and continual improvement of a large number of web and desktop-based products, primarily built using the.NET stack and leveraging complementary technologies such as SQL Server and single page application (SPA) frameworks. I have a strong track record of delivering improvements to the working practices of teams that I work with and consistently leave codebases in a much healthier, and more maintainable state, than I find them.I\'m equally comfortable working with on-premise infrastructure or in the cloud; having significant experience of Azure, GCP and AWS, using infrastructure-as-code to manage resources.I have excellent problem-solving skills and particularly enjoy the research and continual learning aspects of modern software architecture challenges: augmenting my existing knowledge and experience to deliver the right solution; knowing when to leverage what is already there and when to adopt new languages, frameworks, processes and techniques.I consider myself to be an egoless software developer and work well as part of a team of all levels of experience. I’ve regularly been the person that others in the team turn to in order to help navigate roadblocks and solve problems, and it is an aspect of the role that I relish. Additionally, I’m very comfortable dealing with stakeholders outside of the development team, at all levels, and have often been a key technical voice in product strategy.
