I spent 15 years helping oil and gas solve fundamental problems that limited their drilling performance. 2 years ago, I pivoted to geothermal. Since then, I\'ve watched an industry build $5–15 million borefields with zero enforceable construction quality standards.No trajectory requirements. No thermal performance warranties. No mechanism to measure plan against actual. The most expensive, most permanent, least recoverable component of a geothermal system — and the one with the fewest standards governing how it gets built.I started my career in deepwater petroleum engineering at Devon Energy, moved to Chesapeake where I founded the Operators’ Group for Data Quality (20+ operating companies, IADC committee chair, SPE DSATS leadership), then spent five years as Senior Director at Teradata building industrial IoT analytics for global drilling operations.Two years ago I brought all of it to geothermal. The gap between what field software is and what it should be was unconscionable. Nobody is coming. So I am building it. We will bring to bear all the hard won lessons from oil and gas, and use it to accelerate geothermal into a new age.Our first product, BIOT-k is a lifecycle management platform for geothermal borefields — from site assessment and design through construction, operations, and decommissioning.
