ABOUT NATHAN TAYLOR-WRIGHT
I have over 20 years’ experience within financial services, latterly specialising in the prevention of Financial Crime. I’ve built up a strong working knowledge of Capital Markets products and developed Project Management expertise offering a complementary skill set to holistically manage a myriad of matters across the pillars of financial crime.So a bit about my journey thus far. I took the bold decision not to go down the traditional university route instead embarking upon an apprenticeship gaining valuable banking experience alongside studying towards my Degree.The apprenticeship provided me with a solid foundation into Investment Banking, ultimately resulting in my first senior position of Chief Operating Officer within the Corporate Banking London Branch division at one of Germany’s largest Banks. After transitioning into a variety of roles aimed at diversifying my competencies and honing my knowledge of Financial Crime, my current role is that of Managing Director, Financial Crime Risk Management Europe at Toronto Dominion Bank.I relish the challenges and variety of issues encountered within Financial Crime and doing a job which helps prevent the financial system being used unlawfully.My passionate work ethic has always shone throughout my career, as demonstrated through my achievements in obtaining First Class Honours and qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant whilst working full time and most recently being recognised by the International Compliance Association through the accolade of an “Outstanding Achievement Award” for my performance in completing the ICA Financial Crime Prevention Diploma.Outside of work I mentor young people from less privileged backgrounds giving them the inspiration to follow their aspirations. I also deliver talks and offer careers advice at inner city schools and colleges. Above all, I love being a father and all of the joys (and challenges) that entails!Fellow peers, do get in touch.
