Businesses face issues that do not exist within the rigid legal silos present in most law firms. Rather, those issues are almost certain to require a collaborative approach across two or more legal disciplines. But the current law firm model and rate structure restrict and make financially infeasible the ability to deliver that approach effectively to business clients.Recognizing this inefficiency, I created a model where I serve as fractional general counsel for my clients. I connect clients with the very best attorneys available, no matter their business needs, providing them with a single contact through which to direct all concerns and questions. This platform enables clients to confidently receive unparalleled quality, efficiency and responsiveness.I try to use more than 25 years of litigating and negotiating commercial, real estate, financial and employment claims/agreements to help clients avoid common pitfalls. Lessons learned from this experience enable me to counsel dozens of businesses and financial institutions, providing strategy to restructure credits, protect assets, maintain regulatory compliance, avoid costly litigation and create new business relationships.Recognizing that business consumers today view capable legal representation as the bare minimum of what is acceptable from an increasingly fungible legal market, I focus on forming a truly collaborative relationship with my clients. Clients want a strategic partner who focuses not only on winning the day’s legal issue, but also on the long term growth of their overall business. My leadership roles in the community allow me to make valuable connections and introductions for my clients, enabling them to find new and innovative ways to grow their businesses.Designated a Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters, I am also a past recipient of Ingram\'s Magazine\'s 40 Under Forty Award, Missouri Lawyers Weekly Magazine’s Up & Coming Attorneys, the KCMBA\'s 2005 Young Lawyer of the Year Award, and a 2007 graduate of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce\'s Centurions Leadership Program.Community leadership includes being the Past President of the KC Metropolitan Bar Association, Former Chairman of KC’s Downtown Council, and Former Chairman of the Salvation Army Board for Western MO/KS. I also Chair the firm\'s Charitable Contributions Committee.While Kansas City is one of my biggest passions, and I have an unmatched commitment to my clients, Stephanie and our family are the reason I get out of bed in the morning.
