I’m drawn to matters with high stakes and thorny legal issues where strategic thinking and keeping the initiative can make the difference.I began my career clerking for Judge Pierre H. Bergeron of the Ohio First District Court of Appeals, preceded by judicial internships with Judge Amul R. Thapar of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and Judge Susan J. Dlott of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Seeing how courts evaluate arguments, shape precedent, and resolve hard legal questions gave me a foundation I rely on every day in my litigation and appellate work.My practice now centers on healthcare rate and reimbursement disputes, as well as commercial litigation and appeals in state and federal courts across Ohio and Kentucky. I’ve also handled a wide range of other matters — including contract disputes, banking and lending disputes, foreclosures, receiverships, and original actions before the Ohio Supreme Court — experience that has taught me how to manage procedural traps, identify risk early, and maintain the initiative for my clients.Before entering the legal profession, I ran my own small business. That experience shapes how I counsel clients: I value plain‑language communication, practical problem‑solving, and legal advice that helps clients move forward rather than get stuck in risk aversion. It also guides how I build litigation strategy and break down legal issues into plain, workable steps — whether we’re preparing for trial, briefing an appeal, or addressing a regulatory or operational issue.
