About Nathaniel Mark
Hi everyone! My name is Nathaniel Mark, but please feel free to call me Nate. I’m a recent graduate from the University at Buffalo, where I earned my B.S. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering.During my time at UB, I discovered how much I enjoy supporting others. I spent much of my college career focused on mentoring—both formally and informally—and became a CRLA-certified peer mentor while holding 12 leadership roles centered on student support. I was also honored to give two major speeches: the Toast to ’25 to over 500 students and faculty, and the SEAS Undergraduate Commencement speech to more than people.(Yes, I was nervous. No, my voice didn’t crack.)I’m now working full-time as a Hardware Discipline Engineer at Dow Chemical in Houston, Texas, after completing two internships with the company in ’23 and ’24. I currently hold my EIT certification and am working toward earning my PE license.I’m passionate about engineering that genuinely helps people, and I’m excited to keep growing, learning, and contributing wherever I can. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me writing stories, longboarding, running, or volunteering— though not at the same time.
