SKILLS
ABOUT NATHANIEL NATE WALDSTEIN
I grew up in the Tampa area, where I attended the University of South Florida, earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. With over 15 years of experience in DoD acquisitions, I’ve had the privilege of serving in key technical and leadership roles across both the U.S. Air Force and Navy. My career has primarily spanned ACAT I and II programs, with responsibilities ranging from Deputy Systems Engineer to Lead Systems Engineer, Test Director/Lead Systems Integrator, and Division-Level Reliability Subject Matter Expert. I’ve supported a wide range of fully and semi-autonomous systems—including several weapon systems—through all phases of the acquisition lifecycle. I also have years of experience managing suppliers, from system-level integration down to critical subsystems and component-level manufacturing. In addition to my work in defense, I spent over two years in academia while earning my master’s degree, managing materials laboratories at USF and at TUD in Dresden, Germany; resulting in two significant, technical publications. At my core, I’m a mission- and team-focused individual who strives to bring the utmost technical rigor to every role I take on. I also bring a strong sense of humor and an unshakably optimistic mindset to every environment I join.Outside of work, my passion for engineering is evident—whether I’m restoring classic cars or designing and rapid prototyping with my 3D printer. I also love to travel and am always seeking the next global adventure.
