ABOUT NATHANIEL MILLS

I am the Programme Manager for NIHR Children and Young people MedTech Cooperative, hosted by Sheffield Children\'s NHS Foundation Trust, we focus on new innovations for children and young people across our 7 themes. I also support the team at NIHR Devices for Dignity who focus on medtech development across their themes for people with long term conditions. I also manage the TITCH network and the Starworks (child prosthetics research network) My expertise is within network building and bringing SME\'s, patients, clinicians, nurses and anyone with an interest in child health often from diverse areas, together to achieve a common objective- Knowledge mobilisation - Spanning multiple areas of expertise - Patient centred health and new technologies to solve common health care problems - Health care management - Getting quite far on Pacman on one credit My role is rewarding and everyday is different, I feel in a privileged position to be able to work with the great people within our close knit team and with the wider network. Other interests people driven healthcare, social media use in healthcare and emerging technologies both consumer and health related. I qualified as a nurse in 2003, I have enjoyed a rewarding and successful career so far. Working as a staff nurse within a range of clinical specialties developing a broad knowledge base and skill base before progressing to work as a nurse practitioner, research charge nurse, senior research charge nurse and as Lead Nurse for the Clinical Research Network in Yorkshire.
