ABOUT NATE BROUGHTON
Nate is the elected President of the Central Student Association (CSA) at the University of Guelph, representing over undergraduate students. In this role, he leads the organization’s strategic direction, supervises permanent staff, manages all HR functions, and oversees essential student services including the Health & Dental Plan, U-Pass, Guelph Student FoodBank, and the Student Help & Advocacy Centre. He is responsible for a $2.5M annual operating budget and stewards an additional $18M+ in restricted funds. Nate serves as the CSA’s chief spokesperson, working closely with university administrators, city officials, and external partners to advocate for student needs, enhance service delivery, and improve institutional governance.Previously, Nate was Chief Operating Officer at HeyMint, a creator tooling platform and tech startup backed by leading venture firms including Maven Ventures (seed investors in Zoom), f7 Ventures, and Alchemy Ventures. At HeyMint, he led operations, HR, finance, and internal systems - building infrastructure that supported partnerships with MasterCard, Universal Music Group, Ubisoft, ZenAcademy, and others. The platform has now served over 1 million users, with over $38 million earned by creators.He also helped scale Paradime, a creator merch and media agency, from a single client to 30+ top YouTube creators with a combined audience of over 65M+ subscribers. There, he built and managed the operational and technical backbone - overseeing all Shopify storefronts, developing internal tools, and leading customer experience, procurement, and contracts. Under his leadership, Paradime processed tens of thousands of orders and generated millions in revenue.Nate’s career is rooted in technical and entrepreneurial leadership. He founded his first IT business at age 15, became the youngest speaker at a flagship global tech conference at 18, and has continued to pair his technical skills with a passion for public service and community advocacy.Nate’s blend of technical skill, strategic leadership, and community-driven focus continues to define his work - whether building startups or leading large-scale non-profit governance. His track record has earned him recognition as one of the most accomplished young operators in the space.
