ABOUT NATHAN GOODE

Focus on finding ways of generating and evaluating sustainable change for communities and places, and helping to bring public, private and not-for-profit players together to do this. Using my commercial and financial expertise as a base from which to look for innovative but deliverable strategic solutions. Supported by over 20 years\'​ consultancy and project advisory experience in the infrastructure, energy and sustainability sectors. I moved in 1996 from investment banking to public project advisory work with Andersen, set up and ran Grant Thornton\'s Energy Cleantech & Sustainability team from 2003 and was Grant Thornton\'s international sector lead for Energy until July 2015. At which point, I set up my own consultancy, and subsequently joined the Social Value Portal as a director. I am working through these two businesses with government, local authorities and businesses in sectors including housing, retail, leisure, energy, health and construction. Much of my work is about cities and places. With Aventia, I have:Written social and economic impact assessments for a wide range of major projects and programmes;Worked on the development of a housing and infrastructure investment platform for a large construction companyWorked with the Scottish Government on a range of housing finance initiativesUndertaken due diligence and transaction advisory work for large-scale and community energy projects. With the Social Value Portal I am working with public and private sector clients to implement social value in their strategy, their supply chain and community engagement processes. I am an established commentator and presenter.
