The Director of External Affairs is the official spokesperson of Memorial University Students\' Union, an organization representing and advocating for over undergraduate students on the St. John\'s Campus. The role mostly entails media engagements and acting as a liaison with university administration, local organizations, elected officials, and other community members. Other responsibilities include co-managing, with four other executive members, a team of 10 full-time staff overseeing MUNSU services and businesses; promoting student engagement in MUNSU affairs, and conducting research projects on student-related issues.MUNSU services include-The Breezeway, student-run and operated café and bar-The Attic, student-oriented convenience store; providing an advanced copy and print service, Canada Post outlet, Metrobus passes, etc-Safe Drive, chauffeur van service that drives students directly home on weekday evenings-CHMR, on-campus radio station and multi-media centre-Advocacy services (one-on-one support, media engagements, representation in university administrative governance)-Certified legal aid-Spaces for community events and clubs & societies-On-campus employment to dozens of students-Grants and scholarships-Skills-building initiatives-Fun community events-And more!
