About Nathan Creswell
I work with B2B SaaS companies at inflection points: launching something new, fixing what isn’t working, or scaling beyond the first product. Most teams don’t have a “product problem.” They have a clarity, alignment, positioning or sequencing problem. Product sits in the middle of that, which is why it often feels harder than it should. I help make it concrete. My background spans ERP, CRM, CPQ, and supply chain across companies like Salesforce, Apttus, Zuora, and LeadIQ. I’ve operated as both an IC and a product leader, taken products from 0→1, and helped companies evolve from a single product into multi-product portfolios. Hard and gnarly B2B processes is where I shine. Today, I do this as a fractional CPO and advisor through my own practice. I work directly with founders and leadership teams on: • Defining what to build (and what not to)• Connecting product to revenue and GTM reality• Turning ambiguous strategy into execution• Shipping product that actually lands with customers I also invest in startups and run a syndicate. That investor lens shows up in how I think about product: the product itself matters, but it only works if timing, distribution, and market conditions are in place. Most product decisions fail because those are misunderstood, not because the feature was wrong. A few things I’ve learned over time:• Product is contextual. What worked before is often irrelevant in a new environment.• Speed without clarity creates expensive mistakes. Slowing down at the right moments is how you actually move faster. Move fast when it\'s a two way door, not a one way door.• Product only works when the rest of the company is ready for it. If sales, marketing, and leadership aren’t aligned, product becomes noise.• The role requires thinking like a CEO, but operating without authority. That tension is where most of the work is.• Technology is a tool, not a strategy. AI included. The hard part is choosing the right problem to solve. I tend to work best with teams that are dealing with real complexity: multiple stakeholders, unclear signals, or a sense that things should be working but aren’t.If that sounds familiar, feel free to reach out!
