About Nathanael Eoff
I was born to read and write. I shine when I’m working with language. On top of that, I check the boxes. Which boxes? These boxes!* Yes, I am using AI.* Users are first: I make pro and con lists for customers first. Business pros and cons always come second even if they end up winning out in the end. Gotta have your head where your users are at.* I use clear, familiar, everyday language: This keeps users grounded and engaged, even through difficult and onerous tasks, like reading someone’s About section on LinkedIn.* I’m collaborative: Everyone says this. Everyone hopes it’s true about themselves. I don’t hope or believe; I know it’s true because I do it every day - with leadership, my manager, product managers, and my coworkers. I’ve failed if I’ve finished a project and haven’t considered the needs of and input from every single stakeholder.(A sound software development process helps EVERYONE do this easily!)* I’m agile AND I\'m Agile: I’m good at moving from project to project when the workload is heavy, and I’ve used Agile methodology for most of the last decade.* I use the tools: Figma, InVision, Balsamiq, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Microsoft 365.* I started as an educator: This is probably considered more useful for a help writer or someone that works on help content (which I\'ve also done). BUT, consider its vital importance to UX writing: when I write and design, I think about the ways I can alleviate (or at least mitigate) a user’s need to seek help content to complete a task or job.*I don’t use AI to make up for bad design or get something out the door: Machine learning and AI are powerful tools that can enhance customer experiences. Mark that word: “enhance.” The experiences I contribute to should be usable in their own right. Full stop. Those are all corporate, business boxes. And that’s really great. But my STRONGEST assets are the personal ones:* Empathy * Patience * Adaptability * Gratitude * Curiosity * Energy * Passion * Optimism * Realism Things you don’t need to know about me that won’t really help you decide if I’m a good candidate for a position:* I have three kids and I’m worried they’re already all smarter than me (one of them is still in preschool).* I love Twin Peaks and everything David Lynch has ever made.* I took a weird 5-6 year break from reading fiction and then the pandemic (of all things) got me back into the fake world.* Every weeknight is a potential D&D / Twilight Imperium night.* I make videos about stuff I watched for my YouTube channel, Stuff I Watched.
