During my internship with Legacy Building Company, I gained hands-on experience across both commercial construction and new residential projects. Much of my work focused on commercial renovations and remodels, where I participated in site walkthroughs to observe construction progress, trade sequencing, and coordination between subcontractors. These projects exposed me to working in occupied or partially occupied spaces, emphasizing the importance of scheduling, safety, and clear communication.In addition to commercial work, I was also introduced to new residential construction projects. Visiting residential job sites allowed me to observe foundation work, framing, mechanical rough-ins, and finish phases, providing insight into how projects progress from the ground up. Comparing residential construction with commercial work helped me understand differences in codes, materials, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.Throughout the internship, I regularly reviewed construction drawings and specifications to better understand project scope and existing conditions. Working alongside project managers and superintendents strengthened my understanding of how field operations, planning, and communication come together to successfully deliver both commercial and residential projects. Overall, the experience provided a well-rounded understanding of construction management and reinforced my interest in pursuing a career in the industry
