About Nathan Whitlock

Proud Kentuckian with a global perspective, shaped by international educational experiences in South Africa, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, South Korea, and Taiwan. As a higher education professional, I focus on bridging gaps between campus and communities through service, civic education, and mutually beneficial partnerships. I graduated with honors from Centre College, earning a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish with a concentration in Latin American development. I possess strong intercultural communication skills and excel at navigating and building relationships in multicultural environments. Additionally, I am a native English speaker with advanced proficiency in Spanish, intermediate-mid proficiency in Mandarin, and limited but growing proficiency in Korean. As a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholar, I deepened my cultural understanding of Taiwan, China, and East Asia more broadly, advancing my proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. I am dedicated to learning, serving, and advocating for communities.
