ABOUT NATHAN STRAUS

Nathan Straus is a writer, performer, and producer with a background in comedy, scripted content, and live production. He currently works as an Associate Producer at American Picture Company, where he develops original series, contributes to brand strategy and creative direction, and supports production across both creative development and on-set execution. He is also the Creator and Executive Producer of Tonight at Washington Square, NYU’s first student-run, live-to-tape late-night comedy show, featuring sketch, stand-up, live music, and special guest interviews. As Showrunner, he oversees a team of 40+ students across five departments, setting the creative vision and managing production. He also contributes as a writer, director, and performer. His academic work at NYU Gallatin focused on the intersection between Politics, Media, and Comedy, examining the historical and cultural role of comedy as a tool of political expression and critique.
