WORK HISTORY
Senior Mechanical Engineer @Roam Robotics
San Francisco, CA, US
I am tasked with the hardware development of Roam\'s performance product, Forge. This project involves a lot of R&D and rapid prototyping to address challenges such as ruggedization, thermal management, and sound mitigation. I was also a part of the Ascend Health Team. I prepared a novel product to be a Class I medical device to be sold through insurance. This device is a lightweight wearable that grants users the mobility they desire sans debilitating knee pain. My main objective was to ensure our hardware and software was designed to comply with IEC regulations while meeting all product and engineering specifications. No two days are the same. At any moment I can find myself being a - Mechanical Design Engineer- Mechatronics Engineer- Test Engineer- Quality Engineer- Manufacturing Engineer

SKILLS
ABOUT NATHAN RENN TATTRIE
As a Mechanical Engineer at Roam Robotics, I apply my broad technical and interpersonal skills to create innovative and impactful products that enhance human mobility and performance. I currently contribute to the hardware development of a performance-enhancing wearable device that leverages pneumatic and mechatronic systems. This project involves product definition, R&D, and rapid prototyping to address challenges such as ruggedization, thermal management, and sound mitigation. I\'ve facilitated in the design and manufacturing of dozens of injection molded and machined production parts. After in house inspection, I also participate in the in-house assembly of our product. While at Ford Motor Company, I owned all exterior lighting on the 2022 Expedition and led my parts through design, testing and production. There are now over 2022 Expeditions sold and on the road. I also participated in the development of smaller exterior lights on the F-150 Lightening and the Transit Connect. I have a Bachelor\'s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, where I was also a Speaker Team Lead and Coach for TEDxUofM, a student-run organization that presents \"ideas worth sharing\" to the world through TED Talks. I recruited and trained fascinating UofM-affiliated speakers, including a professor from the Ross School of Business. My core competencies include DFMEA, DFM, FMA, GD & T, injection molding, machining, mill, lathe, water jetting, laser cutting, 3D printing, C++, HyperMesh FEA, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Arena PLM, ClickUp, LabView, and MatLab. I love to learn on the fly and use my efficiency and problem-solving skills to create a lasting positive change for the team I am part of.
