ABOUT NATHAN N. CHIN

I’m a Software Engineer in Logistics at WWEX GlobalTranz, specializing in NLP, AI integration, platform security, release management, and SRE.I work primarily with C#.NET, SQL Server, Power BI, Azure (Key Vault, Bot Framework, App Service, Azure Foundry), and AWS, ensuring scalable, secure solutions in high-demand enterprise environments. My journey into applied AI began at St. Olaf College, where I majored in Computer Science and Japanese. I studied abroad in Japan, deepening my appreciation for the language and culture, and continue to be passionate about Japanese language learning to this day. While at St. Olaf, I worked with a research team training and evaluating BERT-based transformer models for language understanding — an experience that sparked a lasting curiosity in how machines interpret meaning and context. Today, I’m passionate about exploring the frontier of applied AI from building local-first multi-agent systems using Ollama, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, and tool-using LLMs, to deploying AI-powered bots on Discord and participating in open-source hackathons. My side projects often blend creativity with utility like my GPT-powered guessing game, custom AI research agents, and orchestration frameworks with real-time web search and memory modules.🧠 I also enjoy experimenting with human-centered design in agents, LLM memory architecture, prompt chaining, and feedback loops. I believe in building things that are fun, useful, and thoughtful and helping others do the same through open source and content.
