ABOUT NATHAN LUMB
Strategy, operations, and innovation leader with nearly two decades of experience turning complex ideas into actionable plans. I specialise in bridging the gap between strategy and delivery – building systems, strengthening governance, and enabling organisations to scale with clarity, accountability, and impact. In my current role at the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC), I oversee a £5m+ portfolio of global industrial partnerships, working at the intersection of research, industry, and government. I lead operational governance, financial performance, and portfolio delivery – ensuring high-quality execution, evidence-based decision-making, and strong commercial outcomes. My background spans finance, technology, R&D, and professional services. I’ve led post-acquisition IT integration, built enterprise-level reporting and governance models, improved multi-million-pound programme performance, and partnered with C-suite leaders to shape strategic roadmaps.I recently completed my Global MBA at Alliance Manchester Business School, strengthening my capability in strategy, financial analysis, private equity, innovation management, and organisational transformation. I apply these skills daily to enhance performance, streamline operations, and unlock value within fast-moving environments.Outside of work, I’m preparing for a South Pole expedition in 2026, raising funds for youth charities and contributing to climate science research. It reflects my commitment to resilience, purpose-driven impact, and pushing boundaries personally and professionally. If you’re interested, you can follow the journey here: frozenhorizons.co.uk @expeditionfrozenhorizons
