I founded a professional development company to fill existing gaps in training, especially experiential training that enables learners to get hands-on practice and immediate feedback. We now offer a full suite of training, coaching, facilitation and team building services that can be delivered virtually or in-person. To date, I have built the business to include dozens of private- and public-sector clients, including non-profit and educational organizations.At Spectrum, I design and deliver workshops for adult learners with a strong focus on oral and written communication, negotiation and facilitation skills and leading teams. My work extends to executive coaching in areas related to leadership competencies, strategic planning and communications.

ABOUT NATHAN LOCKHART
I became an adult learning professional because I am passionate about helping people develop as professionals. I love working with people, strengthening their leadership and communication skills. During my public service career, I saw that people were asked to do things for which they had no training or inadequate training. What was available was usually lecture-based with no opportunity to apply what was being taught or to receive feedback in the moment; people would return to the office with a certificate but little better prepared to actually do the work. To change this, I founded Spectrum Solutions to provide experiential learning that people could take back to their workplaces and actually become better at their jobs. In 15+ years, I have delivered more than 750 workshops – in-person and virtually – to organizations in the private and NGO sectors and to 65+ federal departments, including all three central agencies. I have also provided one-on-one coaching to executives on a range of topics related to leadership and communications. My super power is to break down complex information and tasks and to communicate this in accessible, everyday language, using real-world examples that resonate with adult learners.
