About Nathan Dunn
My true passion lies in empowering scientists, clinicians, and cross-functional teams through effective communication, robust organizational practices (e.g, agile, CI/CD), strong technical leadership, and rapid software development.I am an experienced scientific software engineer with more than 20 years of experience working with full-stack software (Java, Groovy, Spring, Node, Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, React / Angulur / Vue.js), but also working with C++ and CI/CD systems as well.As Technical Lead and Principal Software Engineer II at Roche, over three years I have been dedicated mixed on-shore and off-shore team developing and custom secondary analysis modules for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows. Leveraging expertise in C++, Python, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines, the team has prioritized delivering high-performance and scalable solutions for genomic analysis.Previous roles at Berkeley Labs, Amyris, Truveta, and others have further expanded skills in integrating Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and workflow infrastructure into genomic and healthcare data systems. These were largely React.js front-end, but Python, Java, and C# in the backend backend. I\'m committed to providing solutions for scientists and clinicians via collaboration to further to develop impactful tools that advance science.
