I work at the intersection of AI governance, geopolitics, and human rights, examining how emerging technologies reshape democratic systems, deepen structural inequalities, and create new forms of political and economic dependence across the U.S. and Latin America. With 10+ years spanning international human rights law, advocacy, and geopolitical analysis across Brazil, the U.S, Europe, and South Asia, I bring a cross-regional perspective grounded in both democratic accountability and the lived realities of the Global South. My experience includes multilateral advocacy before the UN and Inter-American human rights systems, policy design for racial justice and gender equity, coalition-building across the Americas, and geopolitical risk forecasting. Today, I focus on how AI procurement frameworks and algorithmic systems are being adopted by governments in Latin America — often shaped by U.S. and global tech actors, and often without adequate democratic oversight. I examine what this means for sovereignty, civil liberties, and human rights, and I write about these issues for policy and practitioner audiences. Open to roles and collaborations in AI governance, human rights and tech policy, and geopolitical risk in policy organizations, international institutions, think tanks, or technology companies committed to responsible and rights-centered AI.
