Drawing on over 30 years of experience at the center of the public, private and non-profit spheres of Washington, D.C, Nate Tibbits has directed policy and consulted for leading corporations and nonprofits, served as a government advisor on national security and personnel, and launched startup think tanks, consulting firms and government enterprises.Nate is Senior Vice President for Global Government Affairs for Qualcomm, a world leader in wireless technology. Based in Qualcomm\'s D.C. office for over a decade, Nate leads Qualcomm\'s regulatory, policy, corporate responsibility and sustainability agendas, managing a global team with staff in Africa, Asia, Europe, India, Latin America and the United States.Prior to joining Qualcomm, Nate ran Blackwood Advisory, a boutique strategy firm, and was the Chair for the U.S. Public Affairs practice at Burson-Marsteller, where he worked with energy, defense, financial services, nonprofit, government and technology clients. At the White House, Nate served as Executive Secretary of the National Security Council (NSC), supporting the President and his national security team in formulating national security policy and crisis management. As Special Assistant to the President for Presidential Personnel, he worked on candidate identification and selection for more than presidential appointments in foreign policy and national security. Nate also served on the Obama-Biden Transition Project. Earlier in his career, Nate was the founding Chief Operating Officer for the Center for a New American Security, a national security think tank. He was also Vice President for International Education at Discovery Communications where he led a digital content business unit with distribution in 60 countries. Prior to joining Discovery, he worked at The Albright Group, a consulting firm advising Fortune 100 clients on a range of international policy and public affairs matters, and at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs. At NDI, Nate organized international election observation missions and established new offices in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Nate began his career working for the City of Asheville, North Carolina, in the Downtown Development division where he managed events to increase tourism and recruit businesses.
