The WellStar Fellows investigate connections between religion and health through an intensive internship with ethicists at WellStar Health Systems, a major hospital and healthcare organization in Atlanta.The Fellowship supports a master-level student preparing for work in the healthcare professions with grounding in religion, ethics, and cultural literacy. Fellows earn annual stipend and a tuition waiver in exchange for their work as a Graduate Research Assistant at WellStar and in the Department.The 2-year program includes graduate coursework in Religious Studies; a 2-year practicum under the supervision of WellStar’s Executive Director of Medical and Organizational Ethics; training in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies Nonprofit Management and Social Enterprise program or the College of Arts and Sciences Gerontology Institute; and research assistant opportunities related to nonprofit organizations.The goal of the fellowship is to prepare M.A. students to be informed and experienced contributors to national and international nonprofit organizations.
