About Nate Young

Nate is a Washington, D.C- based international trade analyst, pilot, and teacher. He has spent nearly 20 years advising clients on U.S. national security and foreign policy, emerging and critical technologies (including AI), and strategic risk management. His background spans government service (including roles supporting the Department of Defense and the State Department), open-source intelligence (OSINT), and diplomatic reporting overseas (Embassies Moscow, Manila, Almaty), with regional expertise in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, and Russia/Eurasia. He is fluent in Russian.Nate also brings hands-on aviation experience to his work at the intersection of technology, security, and risk. He is an FAA-certified Commercial Pilot (Single/Multi-Engine), Certified Flight Instructor (CFII) and Part 107 sUAS Remote Pilot, currently instructing at Washington International Flight Academy (WIFA) at KGAI- one of the largest flight schools in the Washington, D.C. area.
