ABOUT NATE C.

As the Manager of Interceptor Systems at ALCOSAN, I perform work that monitors the operation, maintenance, and strategic management of the wastewater systems. This role involves ensuring the efficient and reliable conveyance of wastewater to the treatment plant. I work in the Regional Conveyance Division, coordinating efforts to maintain and repair the infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and implement system improvements. Other responsibilities include developing and managing budgets, planning and executing projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards. I work closely with other departments, stakeholders, and external partners to optimize system performance and support the overall mission of ALCOSAN in providing clean water and environmental protection for the community. In my previous role as a Department Manager at DLZ, I was primarily responsible for construction management and inspection on highway, bridge, and sewer projects in Western Pennsylvania and Ohio - providing guidance and support to inspectors to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of work. In my role, I also conducted construction inspection, materials testing, as well as assisting in design efforts, contributing to optimize project outcomes. This role also involved marketing efforts, including writing proposals and engaging in tasks to promote DLZ\'s services and secure new business opportunities. Before working at DLZ, I worked as an Engineering and Scientific Technical Intern (ESTI) for PennDOT in District 1-0. In this role, my primary function was as a construction inspector. This internship provided me with valuable hands-on experience in the field, building skills in monitoring construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and supporting the successful completion of infrastructure projects. While in college, I worked as a physics tutor. In this role, I tutored students in fundamental concepts of physics, including static and kinetic forces, electricity, electronics, magnetism, light, and optics. Throughout these experiences I have developed an understanding of various complex technical concepts and how to communicate about them effectively. Exposure to these experiences early in my career with materials placement and testing, construction inspection, and construction management allowed me to build a solid foundation for subsequent professional growth and expertise in the industry.
