ABOUT NATASHA SHOKRI

As a PhD candidate in Social Justice Education at OISE, University of Toronto, and a professor at Centennial College, I, Natasha Shokri, am a global academic whose experiences span the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and North America. My rich journey, enhanced by a Master\'s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the United Nations Mandated University for Peace, has profoundly shaped my approach to advocacy, research, and teaching. My scholarly endeavors, as a pivotal happiness researcher and educationalist, span the interdisciplinary realms of Social Justice, Positive Psychology and Education. These pursuits, enriched by my diverse global experiences, are evident in my multifaceted teaching portfolio, which includes Women and Gender Studies, Black Education, Migrations and Demographics, and Global Citizenship. In collaboration with UofT\'s Department of Historical Studies at eCampus Ontario, I have significantly contributed to the development of 36 educational modules, showcasing my proficiency in educational technology and human-computer interaction, an essential aspect of modern pedagogy. This work is intertwined with my research in peace and conflict studies, underscoring my commitment to creating holistic educational experiences that address complex societal challenges. As a UNESCO Youth Peace Ambassador and a speaker at various global forums, my dedication to promoting educational equity and harmony spans across numerous international platforms. This commitment is evidenced not only through my speaking engagements but also through my extensive research and teaching endeavors. My work across different cultural landscapes and in various academic capacities underlines my dedication to fostering global dialogues on education, peace, and social justice. In every aspect of my career, I strive to contribute to a world where diverse perspectives are valued and harnessed for collective progress and understanding.
