About Natasha Nicholes
What started as a project to grow my food and feed my family of six, has evolved into something with a purpose much bigger than I could have imagined. As the founder of #WeSowWeGrow, a Chicago-based urban farm and nonprofit organization, I am committed to teaching people, families, and communities how to come together through farming and agriculture. I believe gardening is something that should be accessible to everyone, no matter where they live, especially those in urban areas like my home on the South Side of Chicago. The American Red Cross, Mom 2.0 and Molina Health Care have recognized my efforts by honoring me with a Community Champion Award. I think that’s pretty awesome and it inspires me to keep going!As a Black woman who’s passionate about urban homesteading, agriculture, travel, and education, everything I do is an act of defying expectations. With that in mind, I’ve dedicated my life and career to adding a much-needed voice like mine, to conversations about issues in each of those industries as a leader, speaker, and writer. On my blog, Houseful of Nicholes, I talk about it all, while also documenting my family’s domestic and international travel adventures.I love what I do and it makes my heart happy to educate and empower the masses on how to eat, live, and be well. Most importantly, I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with people around the world who share my passions, and I look forward to building an extension of that community here on LinkedIn
