ABOUT NATASHA KHAN

As an Operations Management Graduate at Network Rail, I have gained hands-on experience across Business Continuity, Station Operations, Freight Operations, Maintenance, and Signalling. My first placement was with the Business Continuity and Better Resilience Team, where I helped develop business continuity plans, conduct critical asset recovery reviews, and deliver incident debriefs. I also created a SharePoint Hub to centralise resources and improve collaboration.I then completed a station placement, working alongside Station Managers to support daily operations, customer service, and incident management, followed by a Freight Operations placement focused on performance monitoring, train running, and operational communication and a Maintenance placement, gaining practical experience in infrastructure inspections, defect management, and ensuring operational safety across the network. Most recently, I completed 10 weeks of Initial Signalling training, developing technical knowledge in signalling principles, route setting, fault management, level crossing operations, and emergency procedures.
