I am a nonprofit leader, writer, speaker, and educator with over 25 years of experience advancing equity, social justice, and community empowerment. Throughout my career, I have served in diverse roles across the nonprofit sector, higher education, public health, and communications, helping organizations grow from idea to impact.As a seasoned grant writer, fundraising strategist, and capital campaign leader, I have helped nonprofits secure millions in funding, build sustainable programs, and forge meaningful partnerships with foundations, corporations, and community stakeholders. I have also worked nationally as a nonprofit consultant, guiding organizations in establishing and maintaining their 501(c)(3) status and developing strong governance and compliance practices.With a Master’s in Professional and Technical Writing and two decades of teaching English at the college and university levels, I bring a unique strength in writing across disciplines—including grant writing, ghostwriting, editing, RFP development, and strategic storytelling. My work as a speaker and trainer centers on building resilient, informed communities through workshops on literacy, public health, leadership, and nonprofit growth.I am passionate about preserving the history of the Civil Rights Movement, addressing violence and HIV/AIDS as a public health issue, and expanding opportunities for marginalized communities.
