ABOUT NATASCIA LYPNY

A community-minded, multi-platform producer and reporter who has dramatically influenced a newsroom’s approach to storytelling to better represent the breadth of experiences and interests in the province, making our audiences feel seen and strengthening our connection to the community. This work increased the diversity of demographics represented in our coverage and the variety of topics reported on-A digital journalism innovator unafraid of taking risks and determined to rip down the walls of convention, imagining how stories could be told by different people in different ways. I stay on top of the latest industry trends and push the team to experiment, resulting in many ‘firsts’ for the newsroom-A strategically minded, autonomous project manager renown for my organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple projects at once-An empathetic and energizing leader appreciated for my mentorship of new recruits and development of other staff, and for my ability to build partnerships across departments and the entire corporation-A driver of change who has championed diversity and inclusivity within and outside the newsroom-A confident and personable TV news anchor who is constantly self-evaluating, requesting feedback, and seeking to make the show more relevant in this digital age.
